Food Co-op

After the race this morning, I stopped by the rec center to pick up my food co-op order for the month. Here's what I got this month... for just $16. ($14 for the harvest share and $2 for the rye bread). Find more info here.

This month: 5 bananas, 5 peaches, 6 plums, 6 ears of corn, 1 small watermelon, 1 bag of spinach, 3 cucumbers, 16 oz. pinto beans, 1 loaf whole wheat bread, 1 package mushrooms, 1 head of broccoli.

Chris told me I was crazy for signing up for it this month because we can't keep up with the food from our garden. But a girl can only eat so many zucchini and tomatoes before she just can't take it anymore! Here's what we have from our garden this week (minus the stuff we've eaten). I'm thinking of starting a "harvest swap" with other gardeners in the area. Will anyone trade fruit for my squash? Anything for squash?

Ok, I totally need to find a food co-op like that! Those veggies look great.
OK Cali - I am signed up for The Human Race! I've never done a 10k, so I may need to walk some, but I will do it. Did you see the Human Race Ambassadors challenge? I joined Petey's team.

Hey, long time no....hear from you. huh. I was looking at your blog pictures. You are so beautiful! I love your hair long and you look so much like your mom. Looks like you guys are as happy as can be.
And lets hear it for those domesticated- un-cool gym class wool spinners! (your mom is too cute)
I saw her at Costco last year sometime. I literally almost started to cry. Lame, I know but I forgot how much I loved her and your family. You are all so talented. She's a great woman- so serene. Any way, sorry for my long post. Great to hear from you!

Way to go! Yum! Yum! Its a good thing some of that squash will last a while. Angie has a frozen fruit co-op in Texas that workds well for them. I love harvest time!!!
